As Trilogue discussions on the Commission proposal regarding New Genomic Techniques (NGTs) commence on 6 May, we, the International Confederation of European Sugar Beet Growers (CIBE), along with 26 other partners, urge you to maintain a science-based, pragmatic and proportionate legal framework for NGT plants and derived products.
It is imperative that the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement revision
strictly adheres to the established sugar imports Tariff Rate Quota (TRQ) of 20,070 tonnes
annually.
