On 20^th May, the Beet Growers’ Association for Lower Austria and Vienna, Austria’s largest sugar beet growers‘ association, held its annual General Assembly in Vienna.

CIBE attended the WABCG Council in Guadalajara (Mexico) which adopted the following final statement.

Aujourd’hui 13 janvier est le dernier jour de la campagne betteravière. Les dernières betteraves sont arrivées hier  à Tirlemont et Longchamps et elles seront encore transformées aujourd’hui. La campagne aura donc durée 124 jours.

A project on the use of sugar beet in biogas plants, carried out from 2011 to 2013 by the Rhineland Beet Growers’ Association (RRV) and the Agrarian Chamber of North-Rhine Westphalia (LK-NRW), has been completed.

The following table shows when all four sites in the UK will be fully open for the reception of sugar beet for the start of the 2014 sugar beet campaign.
